8-21-2017 Eclipse New Moon 28 degrees LEO

eclipse moonThank you for taking this journey together, we welcome your participation and energies to “hold a sacred space” for ALL OUR RELATIONS that may need our love and light now and for our Mother Earth who is LOVE!

BTW: Did you know?  Earth and Heart are same ~ move the H from Earth and put it on the front of earth ~ HEART.

There is a worldwide meditation happening at 11:11 AM (PDT) as we continue to prepare for these new times and beginnings. Let PEACE be our prayer! This is global, just imagine the energy we can emit from our hearts … like a bolt of lightning quickly changing what was, ushering in the NEW energies and blessings.

So, I’ve been researching all these other perspectives about what this HUGE EVENT really means, what could happen and all the what if’s … and it’s a bit overwhelming what folks are “receiving” and sharing. The past couple of days I’ve been sitting with this information and the main message that keeps coming in, is: “How does all this serve?”

Right now we have the Sun, Moon, Mars and North Node in LEO. It  is a sign that demands attention; ruled by the Sun (its spotlight) everything will be magnified and dramatic.  My understanding is that for approx. two and a half minutes the shadow remains dark … all of Nature is silent, as if to hold our breath and wait and see what happens, or doesn’t happen!

dark moon

Keeping ALL this in mind, here’s what I AM receiving:

New Moons are always new beginnings, letting go of old patterns that no longer serve and the old FEARS that may be hidden. This is a time of planting NEW seeds. We know that we plant is what we reap ~ To honor our shadows and receive the gifts. In LEO, there is a tendency towards arrogance and selfish motives when unevolved and a generous giving “heart” person when evolved!

Eclipses (solar or lunar) are powerful events that are sacred to Native Americans. Many tribes do not go outside during this time, staying silent in their thoughts and prayers. It is a time of renewal, alignment and honoring ALL THAT IS.

This one is a time of reflection and going within. A time of integration of the shadow side of our selves into the light.

It’s been said that this is also a time when the Sun, Moon and Earth are in realignment and rejuvenation with each other, this is a sacred meeting to prepare for the next cycle. AHO!

Interesting that the planet Mercury is in Virgo is retrograde (apparently going backwards) right now and we need to reevaluate what has been spoken or implied previously. This is a critical/detailed oriented energy, that is analyzing everything and may be challenged to share the words. Communications may be “off” with many misunderstanding and taking things too personal.

Sun (light), Moon (emotions) Mars (warrior) and Earth (structures), align with North Node (destiny) with Regulus (Lion’s Gate) which is close by. All this LEO’s roar may heard globally, we probably seem confused and  arrogant to on lookers! Also, we do expect some continued major shifts during the next 5-6 months. Venus moves in LEO (8-25-17)  conjunct with Mars in LEO. This should bring in the feminine balance to this ongoing display of masculine forces!

Jupiter (opportunities for growth) has been in Libra the peacemaker (Raven) for almost a year. Male/female issues of equal pay, partnerships and judgements have been balancing out! This transit happens once ever 12 years (stays about 1 yr. in each sign) so this the the perfect time to “reboot” our belief systems, and release those old judgmental patterns.

Jupiter moves into another place on the wheel (10-10-17) into the sign Scorpio (Snake). We’ll address that in another blog.

This LEO New Moon is represented by the following in the Medicine Wheel:leo

leoThe Sturgeon, King of the Fish, rules wherever they live and sports a tough armor to protect the valuable seeds within. Sturgeon people have depth, strength, memory and long life because they are smart, some live to over 100 yrs! They can grow up to 9′ long.

Shawnodese, Spirit Keeper of the South, the Coyote, is the trickster, playing practical jokes, making sure we are not taking things too personally. This is where we test to see where our EGO is! We must keep a sense of humor.

Thunderbird Clan (Fire Signs) represents the ego and the “creative fire within” which manifests goals. Puffed up with self importance is a characteristic of Fire signs. Humility is not far behind when one needs this medicine.

Their plant is Raspberry. Tea of the leaves relieves nausea and flu symptoms and helps gallstones. Fire sign have a tendency to over do things, a cup of tea always helps calm the restless nature and rejuvenate the body.

Garnet is their Stone. It strengthens, energizes, enhances self-esteem and holds power. What a beautiful color, like blood that is life giving, it is LIFE and flow.

Challenge: Using power to help others, not to impress them; expressing confidence without arrogance. Being humble.

Gift: Their inner light attracts positive experiences and people who appreciate drama.

“I Shine” … my light out into the world!

Please join us in sacred meditation and celebration during this deeply moving period of change and opportunity. We’re lighting our sage and a white candle for clarity and peace. Check your local listings for times or just take the day to do what you are felt to do. Thank you ALL for adding your prayers and energy to ours.

“To all of you that have participated and will participate in the Medicine Wheel vision, we give our acknowledgement and thanks. You are an important part of what is happening on the Earth Mother right now. Always remember that, and be as gentle with yourself, as you are with the rest of creation.” Sun Bear 1990 (“Dancing with the Wheel”)

How will this eclipse effect YOU? What messages or teachings can you gain when you know what to focus on? What HOUSE has all the action with this event? Where do you find out what HOUSE is activated.

Do you have an astrological birth chart? If so, look at what HOUSE this Eclipse is happening in for YOU personally. 26-29 degrees in LEO … this is a clue and gift to evolve this New Moon Solar Eclipse energy.

Stay tuned to more about this amazing event! Blessings *

Journey with Cancer

I love the information here about Cancer and the gifts this sign offers. It represents the position in the Medicine Wheel of the 4th house as well. We can integrate the two in a very powerful imagery!

“The water signs, Cancer, Pisces, Scorpio are all feminine/yin (with Scorpio being the power sign-fixed of the three). Cancer is the personal water sign; Pisces the more universal, compassionate water sign. Cancer is the sign of the Mother, the breasts, the stomach, the home, family; her cry is ‘I feel’. Cancer can feel into another person, know how it feels to be them, and so can be highly empathetic and even psychic. Cancer rules the 4th house in the zodiac, the one that sits at the bottom of the chart, and along with home and family, it rules our roots, our tribe and our ancestors. Our home is the seat of our private life, and the Moon ruler says this is where our security needs are met. Cancer is receptive, fertile, empathetic, nurturing and protective, as well as patient and supportive. Like summer, the season Cancer initiates, her direction is the South – the outer feminine that creates a basket, a home where love and connection can abide and life can be seeded, nurtured and carried forward to insure the generations.” Excerpt from Patricia Lilies

Flicker, a beautiful woodpecker, is unconditional love and protection. Using their “feeling/knowing” senses, they warn when danger is present.

Frog Clan (Water Signs)ribits” for the rain to come, signaling we too must speak up for what we want!

The Plant is the Wild Rose, which treats colds and flu and settles the stomach. Rose oil is used as a perfume.

Their Stone, Carnelian Agate, heals the heart, keeps the emotions strong and helps to diminish anger.

Clever and very aware of surroundings.

Clever and very aware of surroundings.

Shawnodese, Spirit Keeper of the South, the Coyote, is the trickster, playing practical jokes, making sure we’re not taking things too personallyThey are family oriented and are quite affectionate!

Gift: Inspiring others to keep “pecking away” until they get what they want and don’t settle for less!

Challenge: Healthy boundaries, being able to say “no” without guilt and letting go of unrealistic expectations.

“I Feel” … Mother Earth and what She needs to be healed.

Flicker make excellent parents!

Journey with Gemini

I just watched this wonderful video on Facebook and it embodied the very essence of the Deer People … precious and innocent, sweet and loving. So, I’m adding this video to the BLOG and hope you enjoy!

The Life of Death is a touching hand drawn animation about the day Death fell in love with Life. After being well received on various animation festivals and being featured on the EYE film DVD of Selected Dutch Shorts it is finally online! It’s been viewed over one million times now! marshaonderstijn.com

The Life of Death from Marsha Onderstijn on Vimeo.

“Sad and beautiful at the same time. I think the deer at the end knew what she was doing. She seemed tired and couldn’t keep up with the rest of her herd which is why she put her nose to death’s hands. She didn’t want death to feel bad that one time….” JR. Houston, TX

There are many Native stories that share this belief and love for deer ~ they give their lives so that others may use their bodies to live; meat for food, skin for warmth, sinew to sew garments and so much more! <3 Love and honor for this beautiful 4 legged!

We’re finishing up the 2nd Quadrant in the wheel with our teachings with Wabun, Spirit Keeper of the East, the Golden Eagle, which gives the gift of courage, vision and fearlessness. “The gift of the Spirit Keepers is to teach us about the qualities we need to go from the outer part of the Medicine Wheel to the center”

Lets recap where we started this year with Waboose (White Buffalo) Spirit Keeper of the North healing our physical bodies and looking at how we relate to the world. We learned about CLEANSING (SODALITE) ~  RENEWAL (PERIDOT) ~ AND PURITY (Herkimer DIAMOND)

“The gift of  WABUN, Spirit Keeper of the East is the gift of healing the mental being. This is the healing that allows us to see the truth and to let go of all the lies we have been told and have accepted in our own minds” We’re learning about CLARITY (MICA) ~ WISDOM (JADE) ~ AND ILLUMINATION (CALCITE).

Gemini is mental and by asking for the gift of ILLUMINATION we are asking for the flow of Creator to freely flow through us and be able to relate to the world and see in truth what surrounds us. Combine this with Butterfly Clan and we can observe that energy with those born under this sign, flowing with the wind (Air sign)!

gemini-slideButterfly Clan (Air Signs), always in thinking mode they prefer to be light hearted, rather than serious.

Their Plant is Yarrow, used as a tonic for colds and flu and to strengthen the respiratory system.

Their Stone, Moss Agate, perfectly shows their duality, joining together the mineral and plant kingdoms.

Challenge: Their test is to live life in the fast lane while slowing down enough to hear their heart.

Sharing their wit and cleverness in a way that brings out the best in others.

“I think” … all my relations deserve to be loved.

Journey with Taurus

Welcome to my BLOG. I’ve decided to make this a little more personal rather than just another “article” to read. It feels like a more authentic path and this information is so special.  Thank you for your time and support, Sun Bear continues to inspire many of us, lets keep the dream alive! *

The last couple of nights I couldn’t sleep ~ so much on my mind about this GROUP forum and what it is. I started making Dream catchers for a meditation and remembered a few things.

I had the “vision” in the late 1980’s about the 12 signs of the zodiac while we camped right next to the McKenzie River in Oregon. We just finished going to Cougar Hot Springs … gorgeous old growth forest that you had to hike into and when we returned we built a nice fire to warm ourselves. Soon after the fire was blazing, I was circling it and “seeing” each of the characters in full regalia, with feathers and colors matching the energies of each! It was so exciting and vivid then, I can still see it now ~ I was left with a “dream” of what was to come and my purpose.

Not long after that is when I read “The Medicine Wheel: Earth Astrology” by Sun Bear & Wabun. I could hardly believe what I was reading, it was like “seeing” my vision in each of these signs!

Since I was an astrologer, I could also “see” how they each related and shared many of the same traits. My path was to combine and integrate Western Astrology with these MWA teachings … I AM doing my best to share that now. I would like to share the “Journey Through the Zodiac and Medicine Wheel” and see where it goes!

Beaver people are the manifestors, thinking ahead, providing their family with comforts and protection. They are hard working and tenacious.
*Taurus people have a deep appreciation for the finer things in life. They are determined to achieve their goals and love the comforts of a beautiful home!

Wabun, Spirit Keeper of the East, the Golden Eagle, gives the gift of courage, vision and fearlessness.
*Taurus people have tremendous power when using it as a protective quality, they don’t back down easily.

Turtle Clan (Earth Signs) are happiest when helping others and digging their roots into Mother Earth.
*Taurus people are practical and dependable, helping and assisting others, is where they shine.

Their Plant is Blue Camas. Natives used the bulbs as a food and natural sweetener said to controls blood sugar.

Their Stone is Chrysocolla, known for enhancing strength, stability, courage and prosperity.
*Taurus people usually love this aqua blue color, it soothes the nervous system with a calming effect.

Challenge: Overcoming stubbornness and a tendency to accumulate too many comforts.

Gift: Determination, teaching integrity, fortitude and the value of decency, by example.

“I Have” … the ability to provide whatever is needed.

Sounds like Taurus to me!  Love  *

Journey with Aquarius

The Spirit Keeper of the North is Waboose.

“The Spirit path of the North is the gift of healing our physical being and our way of relating to the world. This is the healing that allows us to let go of disease and accept health.”

There are 3 Spirit Mineral Paths in each quadrant of the wheel, this is the second one in the North (1st is Capricorn). Peridot ~ “brings the qualities of freshness, rebirth, beauty, lightness, balance, tranquility and fearlessness. Peridot is best used by people who have gone through a cleansing or who have clarity.” Working with Sodalite first is suggested, “for without cleansing, a renewal is unlikely”. ” This stone is named for its sodium/salt content and is used for cleansing and strength. “Sodalite is a strong ally that can help keep the spirit clean and the heart true”.”

The story of White Buffalo Calf woman relates to the “giveaway” (she gave the sacred pipe) and talks about when buffalo gave everything to the people: meat, hide, bones and spirit. The sick always know which plants to eat for healing and the buffalo always faces a storm rather than retreat.

Here’s a wonderful story teller, Red Feather Woman sharing the myth:

“The power of Waboose is acceptance of life, acceptance of death and acceptance of the necessity of sharing all that has been given to you.” Waboose, Spirit Keeper of the North the White Buffalo, represents ancient wisdom and loves tradition.

In the astrological Medicine Wheel the animal Guide for Aquarius corresponds to the Sun sign for this month  ~Otter

Otter people are creative, cheerful and playful. They love sharing their resources and their goodness with a group and they are very generous.

Butterfly Clan (Air Signs) are always in thinking mode but prefer to be light hearted rather than be too serious.

Their Plant is the Quaking Aspen Tree; a tea of the bark clears toxins and promotes healing of ulcers and burns.

Their Mineral is Silver which offers sensitivity, enhanced intuitive abilities and helps one to “see” truth.

Challenge: Their Cool detachment and urge for freedom may cause misunderstandings.

Gift: They have genuine concern for family, community, and celebrating everyone’s success.

“I Know” … there is only Oneness.  We are One Family.

“Like the Otter, these folks are playful and community minded. They are helpful, humanitarian, practical and patient. They must learn to turn more of their dreams into reality, and to be more adaptable.”

Enjoy the playfulness and participation of the extended family with  OTTER;  they are all unique and share that truth!  Their opposite/compliment sign is Leo –  Sturgeon and they love to be the center of attention, sometimes too scattered but always memorable!

*Astro Update: Until around the 12th-15th of March 2016,  there is a “lucky” energy available with the planet Venus in Aquarius. Excellent time to “reach for the stars” and go for your dreams. There may be family reunions with like minded heart tribe members sharing a similar focus and intention.

Air signs are from the Butterfly Clan …

they love to share and communicate as they flow through the air! Transformation, as from caterpillar to butterfly represents the change they seek and the freedom they desire.

“Growth, evolution, beauty, regeneration, change, fearlessness and joy” are the lessons learned during this cycle or by the people born of the Butterfly Clan.

Capricorn – Journey Through Medicine Wheel Astrology

HAPPY NEW YEAR FRIENDS! This year we will include a more in-depth look at the Medicine Wheel Astrology journey …

Lately I’ve been re- reading *“Dancing with the Wheel” by Sun Bear & Wabun and I realized there’s so much to know and learn … and remember! I would suggest getting your own copy and DANCE with each sign as we enter it! So let’s start with the position on the wheel that we are in now ~The Spirit Keeper of the North is Waboose.

“The Spirit path of the North is the gift of healing our physical being and our way of relating to the world. This is the healing that allows us to let go of disease and accept health.”

The mineral associated with Waboose is Alabaster “it teaches sensitivity, strength, pureness of spirit, discrimination, high ideals, gentleness, courage and loving convictions.” “In gentleness there is great strength”

The color associated with Waboose is white, the season is winter and represents a time when we have the elders white hair and welcome new borns coming back into the world. This is a time when things seem to be “sleeping” yet there is tremendous growth from within. This is a time of “grounding” and Capricorn is an Earth sign!

There are 3 Spirit Mineral Paths in each quadrant of the wheel, this is the first one. In the North, we start with Snow goose and the mineral is sodalite. This stone is named for its sodium/salt content and is used for cleansing and strength. “Sodalite is a strong ally that can help keep the spirit clean and the heart true”.

The Northern Spirit Path Plant is Echinacea and is renowned as a blood purifier and cleanser for infections. It helps to strengthen the immune system and fight off colds and flu.

In the astrological Medicine Wheel the animal Guide for Capricorn corresponds to the Sun sign for this month~ Snow Goose

Snow Goose people love routine and order. They let troubles just roll off their back and keep cool under pressure. They are extremely protective of family and will fight any opponent when provoked.

Waboose, Spirit Keeper of the North, the White Buffalo, represents ancient wisdom and loves tradition.

Turtle Clan (Earth Signs) are happiest when helping others and digging their roots into Mother Earth.

The Birch Tree is their Plant. Tea of the leaves and bark helps rheumatism and joint stiffness.

Their Stone is Quartz Crystal, which amplifies, clarifies and magnifies truth and emotional wisdom.

Challenge: Learning to delegate, becoming flexible, embracing spontaneity.

Gift: Providing wisdom and support for the “family” and teaching work ethics, tradition and generosity.

“I Utilize” … all that is practical and build upon it.

Snow Goose as its Totem ~ they fly in a V formation, and rely on others to help keep the balance of energies going, staying determined to reach the goal of sustainability without fear or worry.

They work together as a team, and loyalty is a must, they usually mate for life, returning to the same “nesting spot” year after year. They are always “working” on something that will be rewarding, often stern business like and change is difficult for most.

*Update: Astrologically Pluto represents the transformer ~ helping with re-birthing into something new and the release of “crystallized patterns” that no longer serve. It is in the sign Capricorn for many more years and it is most challenging!! Since Capricorn rules the bones, skeleton, knees and teeth (in Western astrology) this year is the time to make sure these areas are checked!

Our very foundation is going through a CHANGE, the old must “die” before the new can enter. This is a time for families (extended or otherwise) to unite and share their information in a grounded Earth manner. Survival and resources is the main focus … what would you do? Be prepared for the unexpected and release the need to control everything! This is a team/family experience and all must work together during these uncertain times.

Earth signs are from the Turtle Clan, and has the ability to stay grounded ~ Your principle lessons: These are derived from your efforts to arrange and conserve, for their purpose is to teach you self-reliance and self-sufficiency in order to establish your own identity. turtle-earth
